Help, quickly

The answers to the things people actually ask. If yours is not here, write to us — every message is read.

I hear nothing at all

Open Settings (F3) and check the audio output device; the status line under the panel reports the device's sample rate and the output peak. If the meters move but you hear nothing, the instrument is producing sound and the problem is downstream — the device, the cable, or the system mixer.

Can I try it before paying?

Yes, completely. Nikkosynth runs with every feature, with no time limit, before any licence is installed. The only difference is a reminder in the title bar and a registration box at launch, which Test for free dismisses. The personal licence is $89.

How do I register?

Click Register in the title bar (F6), enter the name and e-mail address the licence was issued to, and paste the key. A green tick confirms it. The check is entirely offline — there is no server, no account, and nothing to sign in to.

My key is refused

Almost always a mismatch: the name and e-mail must match exactly what the key was signed for, because they are part of the signed message. If the key was pasted through a word processor, its smart quotes will have altered it — paste as plain text.

The panel is bigger than my screen

Zoom the whole interface with Ctrl and + / − / 0 (or the zoom control in the title bar): the panel reflows and nothing overlaps. Fold the plates you are not using with their chevrons, drag the divider (or press Tab) to give the top or the bottom the whole window, and UI Reset puts every plate back.

A knob does nothing

That is treated as a defect rather than a design choice: every control is covered by a test that renders the patch before and after and fails if the audio does not change. Report it with the patch name and it will be fixed.

Where is the manual?

The full user manual and technical reference is here as a PDF (and as Word). It explains every control, the algorithms behind them, and what is not finished yet.

Does it work as a plug-in?

The desktop application is available now. A JUCE wrapper for VST3 and CLAP is the next stage; it reuses the same engine, which is written to be embedded in a host without a rewrite.

Still stuck?

Send the patch name, your system and what you expected to hear. Screenshots help.
